Rubina briefly held the second spot, but she eventually dropped out. Shooters who have disorders in their hands or feet or whose arms, lower torso, or leg movement is compromised fall into the SH1 category.

About Rubina Francis

25 years old Rubina is 40% crippled in her legs and suffers from rickets. Children with rickets experience problems with their developing bones. This illness results in bone pain and weakness. It may result in bone deformities. At the Madhya Pradesh Shooting Academy, Rubina receives pistol shooting instruction. Rubina won the silver medal in the 10m air pistol event at the World Shooting Para Sports World Cup- 2023. Rubina set a junior world record by winning the gold medal in the 10m air pistol women’s team event at the World Shooting Para Sports Championship in Bangkok in 2017. She also won a bronze medal at the 2019 World Para Championship in Croatia.

The second day of the Paralympics saw four medals won by India. In the Men’s 10m Air Pistol (SH1), Manish Narwal took home the silver medal. The women’s 100-meter race (T35) saw Preeti Pal take home the bronze medal. Avni Lekhara took home the gold and Mona Agarwal the bronze in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle (SH1) shooting competition.
